Detailed Tour Descriptions

Carefully researched and proven tour routes providing breathtaking views and scenery, notable break points and exciting riding, while allowing for the highest level of guest safety possible. If the group includes riders of a wide range in age or physical fitness, ABT will customize the tour to accommodate all participants. All tours may be shortened, given various start points. With coach support, riders wanting a shorter or less strenuous ride can join the tour in progress at a designated point, or cut a ride short if they tire.

Laguna Point Roundabout

Canyons leading to the sea; the quintessential Southern California seaside community. The perfect venue for a diverse seaside ride, this tour begins at the guests' hotel and takes them on a run along the coast before turning inland. Avoiding the need for strenuous climbing, the tour proceeds along a dedicated bike path through an environmentally protected and meticulously maintained canyon with stunning natural plant and bird life. The gradual, rolling climb culminates in beautiful Chapparosa Park and the first break point. Turning again toward the sea, the tour rolls through spectacular Dana Point neighborhoods back to the coast to take in the harbor and marina sights. It's a short cruise from there back to the departure hotel.

Newport Harbor Breeze

Featuring one of the jewels of Orange County, this tour explores every corner of Newport Harbor, from its quaint island retreats to its' spectacular surrounding neighborhoods. Starting near the Balboa Island Ferry landing on the peninsula, the tour boards the ferry for the short jaunt to Balboa Island, and a zigzag route through the impressive streets. Crossing the bridge, the tour proceeds south into Corona del Mar, and a break point with a stunning ocean view. A swing north crosses an ornate foot-bridge for the blast down to the famous Pacific Coast Highway, and a cruise into gorgeous neighborhoods with breathtaking ocean and harbor views. A loop through Lido Island precedes the final leg, a serene coast-line cruise down the length of the peninsula on dedicated bike/pedestrian lanes, back to the start point.

A more perfect location for accessible yet rural mountain biking is hard to find. Originally, part of the Juaneno tribal land, the park features mature oaks, sycamores, and elderberry trees, two year round streams and over 30 miles of trials. Many rare and endangered plants and animals make this park their home. Our ride takes us from the "Top of the World" down into the Canyon, through stunning meadows and trees, on well groomed trails (and a little dose of single track) to the Visitors Center. Sure to satisfy the experienced and novice mountain biker alike, Aliso & Wood Canyons Park will surely be one of the high points of your group's activities.
